May 14, 2014 17:12

Construction of the first section of the Third Interchange Contour of Moscow subway (TIC) from the Nizhnyaya Maslovka to Business Center station will be completed by December 2015, but launching of train service is planned for 2016, the head of the Construction Department of Moscow Andrey Bochkaryov announced.

“Contractor works three shifts. We will complete all plans and will run on schedule. Construction will be fully completed in December 2015," Mr. Bochkaryov said on Monday during the visit of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin to the projected Petrovsky Park station. Bochkaryov added that after construction they will need some time for launching the regular train service, which may result in opening of line section for passengers in early 2016. Sobyanin said the commissioning of the new metro line section would improve the transport situation in Khoroshevskiy, Airport, Timiryazevskiy and Savelovskiy districts.

"The total length of the section will be more than 12 km. It will have six stations. Its construction was the beginning of the formation of a new metro system, which will provide the interchange from one branch line to another without using the Circle Line and congested central hubs," Mr. Sobyanin said. The Mayor has set a target for constructors to accelerate the works to deliver this segment in time.

The first section of the TIC of Moscow metro will include six stations: Nizhnyaya Maslovka with transfer to Savelovskaya; Petrovsky Park with a transfer to Dinamo and Khodynskoye Pole; Khoroshevskaya with transfer to Polezhaevskaya, Shelepikha; Business Center with a transfer to the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya line and Vystavochnaya station.
