Parking For 300 Roubles Per Hour
January 22, 2015 16:29

The Administration of Railway Stations of Russian Railways has raised the cost of parking at the western facade of the Leningradsky railway station from 100 to 300 roubles for the first hour of parking.

The cost increase was explained by the desire to lessen the load of the parking lot by taking away a large number of cars, because the use of this parking lot is convenient for the passengers of the high-speed train “Sapsan”.

The press service of the Administration of Railway Stations of Russian Railways said that the tariff increase affected only one of the parking lots located at the Leningradsky railway station. “We are talking only of one site of the parking space at the Leningradsky railway station – its western facade.

This parking allowed the cars to drive up directly to the boarding and detraining zone of the passengers of “Sapsan” trains and was comfortable enough for this category of passengers “- the words of the press secretary of the Administration of Railway Stations Dmitry Pisarenko are quoted by the radio station “Govorit Moskva” (“Moscow Speaking”). Pisarenko also explained that the tariff of this parking lot effective before January 19 cost 100 roubles for the first hour of parking and 150 roubles each subsequent hour.

But, according to the press secretary, this led to the accumulation of a large number of cars in the parking lot. “It was therefore decided to use an “extruding” tariff: 300 roubles starting from the first hour of drive behind the barrier. This measure will make it possible to take the load off the parking lot and provide a more accessible driveway to the railway station from the boarding and detraining zone of “Sapsan” trains” – Pisarenko specified.
