How to Use Free Public Transport in Moscow during FIFA World Cup Russia 2018

Free-of-charge buses will run in Moscow during the World Cup, football fans will be able get to airports and stadiums for free.

“During the World Cup football fans will be able to use the eight buses of the special routes marked with the letter “S”, as well as 45 regular lines of urban ground transport”, as the press service of the Mayor and the Moscow government informed. According to the interlocutor of the agency, free shuttle buses with the letter “S” will run to the airports, metro stations, as well as to the “Luzhniki” Grand Sports Arena and the “Spartak” Stadium.

“To make the trips during the days of the matches of the World Cup 2018 more comfortable, we will launch over 100 large and extra large buses on special routes. Traffic intervals will range from 2 to 10 minutes, depending on the direction. For the purpose of convenience of the fans the buses will be marked with special stickers with the symbols of the championship”, the press service quotes the words of the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport Maxim Liksutov.

In addition, the fans will be able to take advantage of 45 operating routes of buses, trolley buses and trams free of charge, if these pass near the stadiums and through the centre of the capital. To accomplish this, the fans will need to show a fan’s passport (personalized card of the spectator for passage to the matches) and a ticket for the game to a ticket inspector or a driver. This transport will also be marked with stickers.
