Smoking rooms in Vnukovo

Vnukovo International airport (IATA code VKO) is the oldest one in Moscow. It is situated 28 km westwards from the centre of Moscow, so it is the nearest one to the city, moreover, it it very easy to get. Three highways, Aeroexpress high-speed train, buses and shuttles are at your service.

Until 2010, the place for smoking at the Vnukovo airport was in  two rooms inside the terminal building.

Near the gates 24 and 31 the administration made 2 smoking rooms equipped according to all requirements of sanitary norms with modern ventilation. Later similar zones were placed throughout the terminal. But due to the entry into force of the anti-tobacco law, these premises were closed.

Smoking Zones in Vnukovo now

Now smoking is allowed  at a distance of not less than 15 meters from the building   of the airport. Throughout the terminal there are signs indicating  the location of smoking zones, as well as  forbidding the use of tobacco products in unauthorized places.

To date, the administration is in favor of returning smoking rooms to the airport.

According to the director, the law does not currently work as expected, but only leads to constant conflicts between passengers. Smokers complain about the lack of organized space on the territory and often violate the prohibitions inside toilet rooms and other spaces.
