Regional airport Veliky Ustyug is located near the city of the same name in the Vologda region. Flights arrive here only twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays; all Yak-40 aircraft belong to the Russian airline Severstal. You can fly to the region from St. Petersburg and Moscow via Cherepovets.

The runway was reconstructed in 2011; now it can receive different aircraft. The reconstruction of the airport complex has also started, but for the time being it remains unmodernized. Since the residence of Father Frost (Ded Moroz) is located in Veliky Ustyug, the airport becomes especially popular during the New Year holidays.

Airport terminals

The airport consists of one terminal, which will be expanded.

Services

The terminal building is quite small; it has ticket offices, a buffet, a waiting room, a reception and a toilet. Luggage can be left in the storage room. Since the city was declared the home of Father Frost in 1999, guests are greeted with signs depicting a magical old man, and  in the high season you can buy many souvenirs here.

How to get to the airport

The airport is located 3 km from the city center.
