Morskoy Glaz (“Sea Eye”) is an incredibly beautiful lake of karst origin located on a mountain slope.

This water reservoir got its name thanks to the amazing color of its water – as emerald green as the sea. The color contrast is especially noticeable when compared with other lakes of the region which can be seen from the mountain. This water color give is given to the water by green algae growing there. Besides, the lake can be compared with the sea even in its depth - it reaches 38.5 meters in some places. Spruces and firs grow on the lake shores, as well as forget-me-nots in summer.
A brook flows out of the lake, there you can get water to drink. Despite the fact that the water in the lake is perfectly pure, the locals prefer to replenish their water supplies from the springs.
