Souvenirs Of Karachay-Cherkessia
July 2, 2015 17:23

Karachay-Cherkessia is a beautiful ski resort and a place for mountaineering and rock climbing: snow-white peaks, glaciers, enormous waterfalls, rich forests.

What to bring from Karachay-Cherkessia

Shawls, sweaters, figures made of fur, lamb and wolf skins, felt hats for Russian bath, warm fur slippers for home and sleeveless jackets. You can even purchase a rug from the local craftswomen. Traditional Caucasian punchwork, products of woodcarvers and potters are also interesting. Don’t forget about souvenir horns bound in silver or silver-plated with nickel silver that will become a real decoration of your house!

By the way, real buffalo’s horns are one and a half times more expensive than those from ordinary cows, moreover, their curve is more expressed, they have an oval cross section, rather than a round one. In addition, traditional souvenirs of the Caucasus are daggers, metal utensils with patterns or engravings.

In Karachay-Cherkessia you can buy slices of agate, chalcedony and other rocks. And, finally, you can bring jam of pine cones and blueberries.
