The Prusovskoe Lake

The Prusovskoe Lake is called “Our Baikal” by the locals - for the purity of its water. This is not a big exaggeration, the water is really clean enough, although the lake has been officially considered a technical area of an industrial enterprise for a long time. Then the lake had a different name, a more severe one – Zemsnaryad (“Dredger”). But no dangerous contamination happened: they just took sand for the sand-lime brick factory from the water reservoir. The Prusovskoe Lake is often called the Prusovsky Quarry - the road to the village of Prusovo goes by it. The coast of the lake is a private area.

In August 2013 the “Jamaica” water entertainment club opened on the lake. According to the manager of the “Jamaica” Wake Club, it was first conceived as a beach bar by the water - with cocktails, lounge chairs, music, relaxed recreation. And only in the middle of the second season the organizers decided to add some activity, and they had the idea to create a wake park.

What is wakeboarding? In short, this is water snowboarding, an extreme kind of sport. It is very suitable for summer fun in central Russia, because it requires calm flat water - and it is characteristic of the Central Russian lakes. There are different means of transportation on water: by boat, by watercraft and by a special winch that can be circular (when a sportsman moves on the lake in circles) or reversible (the sportsman goes back and forth).

“Jamaica” has a reversible winch, the only one in Yaroslavl Oblast. Not surprisingly, the wake-park immediately attracted great interest of the fans of extreme sports. Beginners who learn about wakeboarding for the first time are also welcome here: experienced coaches work in the club. You can receive the necessary instructions and to ride for fun, or you can improve the skills.

The entrance by car should be paid - 200 roubles during the daytime and 500 roubles at night. There is no parking lot by the lake, and if you do not want to pay for the entry, the only option is to leave the car on the side of the two-lane road. Of course, this does not guarantee its safety. However, on the weekend it will get lost among the numerous parked cars. You can put up a tent on the coast of the Prusovskoe Lake and stay for a few days. The lake bottom is sandy, the entry into the water is shallow.

The beach is cultivated, everything is clean, the trash is removed. Wood for the fire is sold at the entrance, but it is allowed to make fire only in the grill. A small stall with drinks is open.

The “Jamaica” Wake Club leases a part of the beach. “Jamaica” has a bar and a café, a pierce, a porch, a pavilion for picnics, a volleyball playground, a horizontal bar, a trampoline. Free training, flyboard riding, festivals and sports festivals are held here. The championship of Russia in triathlon is also held here. You do not need to book a wakeboard in advance in “Jamaica”. Wakeboarding is divided into sets of 10 minutes. 1 set costs 500 roubles on weekdays and 600 on weekends, the price includes the rental of a lifejacket, a helmet and a wetsuit (if you need them). 3 sets cost 1,100 roubles on weekend. There are season tickets and gift certificates. Details can be found on the official website or in the community at vk.com. The second floor of the club has a small veranda with a great view of the lake, it can be rented for 5000 roubles per day.
