The South and Center is mostly taiga, which passes in the wood tundra in the north, and then in the tundra. From here, the routes begin to the most beautiful mountain lakes and mountain Narodnaya. There is one more significant difference. UAZ vehicles (vehicle manufactured at the Ul'ianovskiy car factory) are used to carry the tourists on the route from Pechora and Vuktyl. From Inta the tourists are carried out only by Urals vehicles, as only these types of vehicles can pass these roads.
In addition, on the route you need to force the affluent Kozhim that can wash away the car if it would be lower. However transportation from Inta is much more expensive. History
The particular history of these places relates to gold and people who mined for gold. On the river banks you can still see the typical pebble dumps, somewhere you can see some rusted pipes places sticking out from the land and traces of gold miners working.
The workers from Cooperative "Pechora" searched the gold till the end of the eighties, prior to the isolation of protected areas, on the banks of Kozhim and many other mountain streams and rivers. And they did not just search the gold. A real freemen was formed here with its unwritten laws, which are told about by the local people. They say, for example, that a sign "The Soviet regime ends here" was hung on the turnpike before entering the territory of the cooperative. Who knows whether this sign was or not here, but the rules here are not really advices.
Vadim I. Tumanov reigned in "Pechora", its founder, a legendary figure, a gold miner with long-term experience and camp past. He was tough but fair. The taiga loves such people. Tumanov had a lot of enemies, who eventually closed his cooperative in 1989, but he had also a lot of friends who were ready to follow him to the end of the world without asking the questions. Vladimir Vysotsky was one of those friends, who had devoted some songs to Tumanov. We can assume that almost all of Vysotsky's songs about the north and taiga are inspired by stories of Tumanov. And when Vysotsky told of his desire to escape the world's end, this "end of the world" had a particular geography. It meant this land of the national park "Yugyd Va".
