Dubovka: Local Pecularities
March 25, 2017 01:23

Many legends are connected with a majestic oak located on the eastern outskirts of Dubovka, on the bank of the Volgograd water reservoir. This oak is 400-450 years old. They say that Stenka Razin with his comrades had rest in its shadow. Local landowners liked to play cards under this oak and, sometimes, lost entire fortunes. According to a Tibetan monk who once came here, the oak has a positive energy. They say that if you make a wish and touch the oak, it will come true.

The climate in the area of Dubovka is moderately continental. Winters are cold, with little amount of snow, frequent thaws. The average temperature in January is -10° C. The summer is long, hot and dry, with an average temperature of +23° C in July, but sometimes the temperature rises up to +39 - +45° C. The best time for visiting includes summer and autumn, the latter is usually warm and dry in these places.
