The first information about the lead-zinc deposits in Olginsky district around the Tetyukhe River was disclosed in the second half of XIX century, after the annexation of Primorye to Russia. However, according to legends, the development of the Tetyukhinsky ores had been carried out by the tribe named “tazs” that inhabited Primorye in ancient times, before the arrival of the Chinese.

There is a legend connected with the life of the Vladivostok merchant Yu.I. Brinner. It tells that once Briner’s daughter fell in love with a simple shepherd, but her father prohibited her to marry a poor man. Out of grief the girl jumped into the sea from the cliff of the cape where the Briner family had a summer cottage, then she turned into a pink gull. The father ordered to put an arbor chapel in memory of his daughter on that place.

The chapel has survived until now. And the Cape has been named after Brinner. Dalnegorsk is famous for the frequent appearance of UFOs. During the period of the years 1986-2004 the town’s inhabitants have observed the appearance of unknown objects many times. One of these objects even fell to the ground and broke to pieces of materials of unknown origin. These are still being studied even today.
