Tourist Routes
The climate in the reserve is predominantly continental. Winter is quite cold, and summer is warm. This is facilitated by the presence of volcanoes. The snow cover appears in the park in October and reaches two meters in winter. Snow disappears by the end of June, and summer begins. The warmest period is the end of July and the beginning of August.
All guests of the park wish to see the main member of the local animal world - the brown bear. And this is quite real. On this territory there are more than a hundred bears. In the center of the reserve, animals appear even in the tourist base. Leaving the house, do not be surprised if you notice a big brown back in the thickets nearby. In a warm season, they come to eat berries. However, do not be afraid - they will not come to visit you closely. Most often they can be found on the right bank of the Goryachaya River, and the houses are located on the opposite side. In autumn, bears are fishing near the river, then it's harder to notice them.
In shallow water you can see a wolf. These predators often fish here on spawning rivers. Their tracks on the snow can be seen even near the houses of the central part of the park. Kamchatka sable lives in the forest. Scientists note that in the park they feel comfortable enough, and the number of them is rapidly increasing every year. They are already more than three hundred. There are also such predators as wolverines and lynx. On a white blanket of snow you easily notice their tracks. The park is famous for such rare species as a snow sheep and Kamchatka reindeer. There are about 130 species of birds in the park. Gulls, petrels, sandpipers, as well as hundreds of other birds inhabit the rivers. Winter eagles, golden eagles and eagles are attracted to fish here. The water is warmer because of the flowing hot springs. Birds come here from the local mountains. In the area of the Dzendzur volcano, ornithologists often notice how adult eagles nest, later they observe flights of their offspring. However, eagles and golden eagles nest in very inaccessible places, and the nests themselves could not be found by scientists.
For excursions of ornithologists or simply bird lovers, the park's employees developed seven routes.
Location: Nalychevo Natural Park is located in the valley of the river of the same name. Nalychevo is a very popular tourist area in Kamchatka, because of its close location to Elizovo and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
What to see: the surrounding places are rich in cold and thermal springs, most of which, according to their natural properties, have no analogues on the territory of Russia. It is interesting to visit the valley of the Goryachaya River (Hot River). Its water is heated by thermal springs and has a very comfortable temperature for swimming.
There are some volcanoes on the territory of the park: Avachinsky, Koryaksky, Zhupanovskaya hill, Dzenzur and Aag. There are cold narzans and hot springs, smoking fumaroles and mud boilers on the volcanoes’ slopes.
One of the local attractions is the travertine shield - the exit of rock composed of calcium carbonate. In order to allow the tourists to see the bright red travertine exits, the park’s workers laid special wooden bridges over them.
How to get there: there are two ways to reach the park. The fastest way is to fly from Elizovo to Nalychevo by helicopter, which takes about 20-25 minutes.
The second way is more popular. It is a pedestrian crossing from the cordon in Pinachevo village. In winter, they fly to the central part of the park by helicopter, arrive by cross-country vehicles or make cross-country skiing. One-day helicopter tours for acquaintance with the Nalychevo Natural Park in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky can be purchased for about 14 thousand rubles.
