Active Holidays
For fans of active holidays, the Krasnoyarsk Territory is a godsend. Here you will definitely find many kinds of entertainment. There are 7 reserves in the region, where it is possible to raft along rough rivers, walk on foot or try horse trekking in the mountains, watch birds, arrange photo safaris, etc. 323 thousand lakes and hundreds of rivers are full of fish.
Rafting on Mana
The length of the mountain-taiga river Mana is 475 km. In its bed there are many islands, bends, pitfalls, shallows and shoals. The annual championship on water slalom is held here. The most comfortable time for rafting is July and the beginning of August: it will be possible to swim and fish.
Caves
The region has many natural mines and caves. The largest caves in Siberia are nature monuments of regional significance - Big Oreshnaya and Badzheiskaya. One of the most visited caves of the region - Karaulnaya - is located 25 km west of Krasnoyarsk. The dungeon has two floors and contains three grottoes with speaking names: Charms Grotto, Wet and Dirty. The total length of the cave passages is about 540 m, and the underground tunnels go down to 34 m. There is a mystical place in Karaulnaya - right behind the entrance of Prometheus, at the end of the winding tunnel. It is said that in this place the beat of one’s own heart turns into a beating of a huge hammer.
The caves of Badzheiskaya and Bolshaya Oreshnaya are natural monuments of regional significance and are subject to protection as unique objects of inanimate nature.
Mount Borus
Fans of outdoor activities prefer Borus because of mountain waterfalls, lakes with glacier water, breathtaking panoramas and the absence of insects. The mountain is a part of the Shushensky Bor national park. The ridge was named in honor of the first sports conquerors Borisov and Rusanov; its geographical name is Poylova Mountain. The highest point is 2318 m above sea level. From the summit you can see the ski resort - the Gladyenkaya mountain and the endless Sayan mountains, Ergaki. Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric station is also visible from Borus.
Kansky festival
The Krasnoyarsk Territory even has its own Kansky festival (sounds like Cannes), which has been held since 2002. But there is only one “n” in the title, as it takes place in the city of Kansk. This is an international competition of alternative, avant-garde video at the intersection of cinema and modern art. The festival, in fact, is a platform for experiments, opposing censorship and Hollywood. Here you can see films that will never be shown on large screens or even on TV. The authors are directors from all over the world, for 10 years the festival has become so prestigious that they travel to the Siberian town from America, India, France, Greece, etc. Genres are the most diverse - from anime to musical. The festival is held in the second half of August.
Ethnic festival
In July, in the village of Shushenskoye, a festival of ethnic music and crafts “The World of Siberia” takes place, it used to be called the “Sayan Ring” when it gained enormous popularity. For three days, musicians and artisans from all regions of the country and even from abroad come to the village. Tourists live in the atmosphere of dance, live music, and art.
