What to Do in the Krasnoyarsk Territory: Entertainment and Attractions
March 10, 2019 16:28

Krasnoyarsk residents believe that the center of Siberia is just their city. However, Novosibirsk still claims this title, there is a long-standing dispute between residents of two large cities in the region. While intractable. Nevertheless, Krasnoyarsk was marked on a 10-ruble bill, namely, two city sights - the Communal bridge, which received a gold medal along with the Eiffel Tower, and the Paraskeva Pyatnitsa chapel.

Krasnoyarsk is called the city of fountains - there are 107 water constructions in the city. The most beautiful is the light-music fountain on Theater Square.

The city is also interesting for museums (the first museum night took place there, then Muscovites picked up the idea), theaters (tickets need to be bought at least a month in advance) and nature. The Stolby Nature Reserve, the Bobrovy Log ski park, the Roev Ruchei Zoo are within the city limits, and can be easily reached by public transport.

Nature of the Krasnoyarsk Territory

Funpark "Bobrovy log"

Everyone will find something to do at this ski resort. The choice includes skates, sleds, buns, etc. In the summer, there is an outdoor swimming pool, a rope park, where you can ride a rodelbane, go down from the mountain in zorb, climb the cable car to the top to enjoy the beautiful view of the city and the path to the Pillars reserve; take beautiful pictures, feed squirrels and chipmunks - they are almost tame.

Park of flora and fauna "Roev creek"

"Roev creek" is one of the largest zoos in the country, located next to the famous Krasnoyarsk "Pillars". Hundreds of species of inhabitants live in the park: spectacled and Papuan penguins, giraffes, polar bears, ostriches, etc. Krasnoyarsk residents are very proud of the aquaterrarium – there are hundreds of aquariums with the most diverse inhabitants of the seas, lakes and rivers. There are even reef sharks. Every Sunday at 13:00, visitors can watch the feeding of reef sharks. Predators eat their portions of squid and fish rapidly, so it's better not to be late! For little visitors, there is a contact mini-zoo — a kind of village courtyard where kids can feed and pet the pigs, goats, ducklings, rabbits.

Krasnoyarsk HPP

The Yenisei-father, as residents of Krasnoyarsk say about the river, is the deepest river in Russia, its pool is several times larger than the area of France. Krasnoyarsk Hydroelectric Station is located upstream of the Yenisei River, 40 km from the city. High dam weighs over 15 million tons! In terms of power units, the station is among the ten largest hydropower plants on the planet.
