Russian agritourism  is developing most actively in Karelia,   the Altai, Leningrad and Kaliningrad regions.

There is a farm for the production of Italian cheeses, which is located on the vast territory of the former marmalade factory in the village of Mednoye, the Tver region. Just imagine - it covers an area of 16 hectares! The whole farm has more than a hundred cows providing the milk needed for the production of cheese. It is necessary to   clarify: they produce here only soft and hard varieties of Italian cheese. It turns out that blue cheeses with mold do not tolerate the neighborhood of other types of cheeses and therefore they are not made on this farm.

Guests are kindly met here by a guide who performs the function of the Chicherone. After a short speech, the Chicherone escorts you to a large room with long wooden tables and chairs arranged around the perimeter of the large room - this is the tasting space with strictly reserved hours. Probably, you would think that since the farm specializes in cheese, there is nothing more than cheese here. However, this is not the case at all!

For example, while tasting, you can order an Italian wine.  Chicherone dwells on each type of cheese in detail and talks about the method of its production, shelf life and other characteristics. At the end of the tasting ceremony, you will be offered dishes of Italian cuisine: Lasagna “Alla Bolognese” and “Crepe” with spinach and ricotta cheese. After the pasta,   "polpetta" comes -  special  Italian burgers.   In addition, amateur chefs can discover here a lot of secrets of culinary art.

After lunch, visitors go for a walk around the farm. There are two ostriches, a domesticated wild boar named Masha, many, many horses, cows, bulls, goats, ponies.   It is worth noting that the time for inspection of all living creatures   here will be longer if you come   for a few days. You can stay here or  in the nearest cities - Torzhok or Tver.

And since agrotourism presupposes rural work, here it will  be provided for you for sure!   But note that you will have to get up before the light or dawn! Milking cows starts at four o'clock in the morning, and fermenting -  at six.  On the farm you can also ride horses, both independently and with an instructor.  Have you ever been to a real country farm? No? Then you should try at least once to come  with friends, family or solo, and relax, breathe in the fresh air and realize that life is beautiful!
