Primorsky Krai is a surprisingly picturesque and simply unique place in the Far East of Russia. Nature lovers will find beautiful hills here, the coast of the non-freezing Sea of ​​Japan, the fascinating underwater world, the unique Ussuri taiga, the mountain slopes of Sikhote-Alin, and many natural reserves. Primorye occupies the most extreme part of the south-east of Russia. It is overland bordered by the Khabarovsk Territory, China and North Korea, and in the east and south it is washed by the Sea of ​​Japan. Weather in Primorsky Krai
Winter in the Primorsky Territory is long and with low temperatures. In the central and northern parts of the region it lasts 4-5 months, and in the south-west 3-3.5 months. The weather in winter is mostly sunny. The first snow appears on the peaks of Sikhote-Alin already in early October. The January temperature varies from +12.5 ° to -23.9 ° .
Spring in Primorye is cold and lasts 2-3 months. The average temperature in April is +3 ... + 5 ° C. Frosts in the foothills and mountains of Sikhote-Alin can last until mid-June, and on the Khanka plain - until the first half of May.
Summer is warm, and in some areas remote from the sea, even hot. The warmest month in the continental regions is July, on the coast - August. Autumn is warm and dry. The air temperature drops slowly. 
Primorsky Krai has a number of specific features of the climate: monsoon character associated with frequent typhoons; high humidity; a large number of days with strong winds, fogs; short duration of sustainable snow cover in the southern and foothill areas.

Excellent places for tourism and recreation are located in the foothill areas of the right-bank tributaries of the Ussuri, the central and northern part of the Sikhote-Alin. Constant interest is also caused by ancient extinct volcanoes, especially the Baranovsky volcano (the Razdolnaya river) and volcanoes located on Cape Povorny and on the Olympiad Cape.

Primorsky Krai  has unique opportunities for the organization of therapeutic and recreational types of tourism. It offers natural healing and health resources, rich mineral water deposits and therapeutic mud, as well as unique springs, which have no analogues anywhere else in the world.

There are more than 3 thousand lakes in Primorsky Krai. Khanka is the largest one. Also, several small lakes ranging from 0.2 to 3.3 square   km are located in the south,  the Khasan region. Salt Lake Talmi is also located here.
