April 22, 2019 16:04

Event tours in Russia are still gaining popularity - as a rule, those interested in specific events  book tickets and hotels on their own. However, for large-scale events, tourists usually need help of the travel industry professionals.

So what are  the most popular events in Russia? Read below and find how to visit them easily.

It is not difficult to visit regional football matches, and, as a rule, there are no problems with the purchase of tickets or accommodation. But if you decide to come to  Moscow for UEFA Champions League tournaments, you should take care of tickets for the matches in advance, as this is an all-Russia event.

Tickets for Events in Russia

The Continental Hockey League games are the main event for fans of hot battles on cold ice. They are regularly held in different cities of Russia - not only Moscow and St. Petersburg, but also in Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Vladivostok, Novokuznetsk, Nizhny Novgorod... so you can not only choose a game, but also add an excursion program and some outdoor activities - for example, fishing or riding a snowmobile.

The Kremlin Cup tennis tournament, which is held annually in the autumn at the arena of the Olimpiysky sports complex, gathers a lot of fans. Over 15,000 spectators are going to cheer for the first racket of the world, and  tickets are not always available for sale.

Science and technology

The international aerospace show, which takes place every two years in Zhukovsky near Moscow, is an absolute favorite among scientific and technical events. During four days of the air show, more than three hundred thousand visitors come to watch the planes and admire the demonstration flights, and more than forty countries participate in the event.

The Moscow Motor Show is another significant event in the world of science and technology. This is the largest event in the industry in Russia, where the world's biggest car manufacturers present their new products at the Crocus Expo exhibition center.

Well, the most ambitious event "on the water" is held  in the capital of the northern fleet of Russia - St. Petersburg. The city on the Neva River hosts an impressive International Naval Salon, where companies from more than thirty countries of the world present their products - from ships to fleet weapons systems. The salon takes place in July, so in parallel with the inspection of the  ships, you can still capture a piece of white nights, go for a walk around Peterhof and, of course, enjoy the masterpieces of painting and sculpture in the State Hermitage Museum.

History and national holidays

The long and glorious Russian history is rich in various noteworthy events - battles, coronations and significant dates, and there are those for whom the opportunity to dress from time to time in a hussar or a participant of the Ice Slaughter is the very essence of life.

The most convenient for visiting reconstruction is the military-historical festival “Borodino's Day”. The venue is Borodino village in the Moscow region, the date is September 7th. It is easy to get there by train from the Belorussky railway station, so you should not worry about accommodation for the night in a hotel.

Fine arts

Concerts of world music stars, film festivals, Russian music festivals and theatrical awards are visited by many international guests.

Among the most popular music festivals are the Tchaikovsky International Music Competition in Moscow, the Grushinsky Festival of bard songs in the Samara Region, the Ilmensky Authors Song Festival near Chelyabinsk, and the Rachmaninov Classical Music Festival in Veliky Novgorod. The Tchaikovsky Competition is held every four years, and this makes it an exceptional event in the world of music.

Moscow is also famous for the Golden Mask theatrical festival.

We can’t help mentioning the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Moscow. Here you can enjoy fashion shows of Russian and world designers as well as stylish street style looks.
