Rivers, fishing and hunting
 
Perhaps the most popular form of recreation in Karelia is all kinds of river rafting. There are several options for such holidays: it can be water trips or small rafting trips, rafting on the rivers for several days and rafting with access to the sea. Depending on preferences, tourists can go on an organized tour or plan an independent trip with their equipment.
 
For a corporate holiday, short three-day or four-day rafts are perfect; long trips are preferred by tourists with a team spirit, for whom rafting is a kind of struggle with  water, filled with speed, drive and adrenaline.
 
Rafting along the Keret river will acquaint you with the most unique places of northern Karelia, the rafting route along the Okhta River, which is notable for its rapid flows, passes through several amazing Karelian lakes, and beginners will surely enjoy the uncomplicated rafting down the South Shuya River.

 

Karelia, as it is known, is the land of a thousand blue lakes. They are of great interest even for experienced fishermen, the weight of trophies obtained here is amazing. The aroma of soup cooked on fire cannot leave anyone indifferent, as well as romantic gatherings around the campfire, and colorful sunrises. Tourists who do not imagine their holiday without movement, can perfectly combine contemplative fishing and hunting with hiking and visit the unexplored places of this amazing land. 
 
Hunting in Karelia is under the strict control of the state and is allowed only in the time specified by the protection department.
 
Winter in Karelia
 
Active rest in Karelia is wonderful in winter too. Opportunities for an exciting pastime in the winter include ski trips, dog and reindeer sleigh rides, horseback riding, and tours on snowmobiles. More familiar entertainment is also available: ice skating, skiing and tubing and of course, all sorts of snow fun.
