Adler: Regions, Climate and Weather
August 3, 2020 15:26

(Source: https://imgirl.ru/psycho/pogoda-v-sochi-na-ijul-2020-goda)
Adler is located in the humid subtropics zone, and of all the resorts and areas of Greater Sochi, it is the warmest.

Mountain ranges create a barrier to cold winds, taking away all the snow, and the sea provides pleasant freshness in summer.

The climate is humid, good for human health and the flowering of numerous vegetation. It is very similar to the neighboring Abkhaz one, pleasant and comfortable, as well as the climate of the coastal regions of Montenegro and Croatia.

Summer here is long, from mid-April to late October, mostly warm and sunny, from November to January it is the period of the mild autumn. The so-called "winter" comes in February, and in March it is already spring.

The hottest is traditionally August, the coldest -  February. However, even in February, the air temperature does not drop below + 10° C, and the average annual remains at around +16° C - the climate of eternal spring.

The sea water temperature is rarely below + 15° C, in August the thermometer “raises”   almost to +30° C. And bathers on the Adler beaches are always found, even in January!

Despite the fact that Adler is positioned as an all-season resort, it is worth deciding why you are going on vacation, then  it’s easier to choose the right time.

In winter, it is worth coming here with a ski suit and set personal sport records, or just breathe the fresh sea air.
For swimming in the sea and a comfortable tan, you should visit Adler in June or during the “velvet” season, late September-October. Spring is preferable for walks or excursions to the surrounding attractions. Make your choice and Adler will not disappoint you!

Climate and weather in Adler by months

In Adler, all four seasons are different, and each of them has its own characteristics. Summer in the region is long, autumn is moderate, winter and spring are short.

Weather in Adler in spring

With the first days of March in Adler, the is already felt: the length of the day is growing, the air temperature is gradually increasing - on average, up to + 11... + 13° Ñ. Nevertheless, the number of rainy days   practically does not decrease compared to February: according to statistics, there are 11 days with precipitation over 1 mm per month.

Adler in April is good for long walks, excursions, trips: on the eve of the May holidays and the beginning of the high season, the resort town pleases with a small number of tourists and warm days. The daytime air temperature in Adler more and more often exceeds the +15° C mark, but it does not happen year by year, and sometimes April is rainy, which can spoil excursion plans.

In May, the weather in Adler is mostly sunny and comfortable for walking. Often, the May weather favors the opening of the swimming season: after several warm and sunny days, towards the end of the month, the sea temperature near Adler reaches + 18 ° C, at the same time the beaches begin to fill.

Weather in Adler in summer

On the Adler coast, the holiday season officially opens in June. At the beginning of summer, there are still not too many vacationers, and the beach is often spacious. The water temperature in June reaches +20° Ñ, the average daily temperature is noted at +23° Ñ.

Hot weather in Adler in July heralds the peak of the holiday season, which usually occurs at the end of the month. The air temperature during the day averages +25° Ñ, but often exceeds +30 ° Ñ. With a consistently high humidity of 75% or more, the   heat increases. In July, you can expect up to seven rainy days.

In August, the weather forecast in Adler reports the same number of hot days as in July, and therefore the whole resort life is still concentrated on the beaches. In the last month of summer, the water warms up as much as possible - up to +24° Ñ along the entire coast, and in shallow water its temperature is even higher.

Weather in Adler in autumn

September in Adler is not autumn yet. During the day, it is consistently warm and sunny, the heat decreases a little (by one to four degrees), but this is more an advantage of the “velvet” season than a disadvantage. The water temperature drops slightly - up to +22° Ñ, the monthly precipitation rate increases - up to 134 mm.

The weather in Adler in October is already signaling the approach of autumn: the air temperature, followed by the water, is steadily decreasing: and if during the day it is about +20° C, then at night the thermometer drops to +11° C, and for evening walks you will need warm clothes.

The changeable weather in November makes it impossible to enjoy the hospitable Adler sea: the water cools down to +14° C, it rains more often - about 170 mm of precipitation falls per month.

Weather in Adler in winter

In December, the weather in Adler hardly reminds of the beginning of winter. It feels more like rainy, but not too cool autumn: in the daytime about +10° C, at night an average of +3° C, and about 200 mm of precipitation falls per month. Frosts and snowfalls are rare.

With the onset of January, it gets a little colder in Adler: up to +8° Ñ during the day and up to 0... + 2° Ñ at night. Water cools down to +8... +9° Ñ by mid-winter. Sanatorium health-improving rest, skiing direction - trips to Krasnaya Polyana, excursions to Olympic objects remain relevant.

Throughout February, the weather in Adler favors   short walks, rest in ski resorts. It  is +9° Ñ daytime,  while at night, as in January, about +2° Ñ. From time to time, short frosts are possible, but practically do not happen.

Regions

Adler is one of the popular resorts, a part of Greater Sochi, and the administrative center of the Adler region - the southernmost and second most populous. Adler is located 20 kilometers south of the center of Sochi, between the rivers Kudepsta and Psou.

In the west it borders on Khosta, in the south - on Abkhazia. Here, on the border with Abkhazia, there is the highest point of the entire Greater Sochi, Mount Agepsta, which is 3256 meters high. And to the south of Krasnaya Polyana, the Aibga ridge with ski complexes and resorts is located. Its highest point, Kamenny Stolb (2509 meters) is the highest observation deck in Krasnaya Polyana.

Conventionally divided into tourist and sleeping areas, Adler is known for its rich infrastructure.

Tourists are interested in the Central District - there are many hotels and health centers in this part, well-known sanatoriums, such as "Yuzhnoe Vzmorye", with a nearby small bus station, shopping centers, beaches, and a beautiful promenade.

The main attraction of this part of Adler is the Southern Cultures Park.

The resort town is also attractive. All major tourist sites are concentrated here - hotels, boarding houses, private rest houses, and sanatoriums. Izvestia, Orbita, Vesna, Znaniye - they have not lost their relevance even now. There are many cafes, clubs and bars, souvenir counters, shops and the largest oceanarium in southern Russia is also located here.

And the territory of the Imeretinskaya Bay is not at all like the Adler from the Soviet past. There are luxurious five-star hotels, the best representatives of famous world chains, such as Radisson Blu Resort, Tulip Inn Omega Sochi, Russian Seasons, Bogatyr, Sochi Park Hotel, Bridge Resort, as well as the Barkhatnye Sezony hotel city.

Adler is also rich in sights. The Sochi Park (famous amusement and entertainment park), the Olympic Park, the beautiful Imeretinskaya embankment, and the longest beach in Russia are all located here. In the evening, you can go to one of the many cafes, or watch the fountain show.
