Belaya Kalitva is the largest of the small towns of Rostov Oblast. The town is immersed in greenery, it is mainly a single-storey town among low hills covered with gray feather grass, it may seem a large Cossack village (which is historically the truth).

The Khrebtovaya Mountain is located on the territory of the resort town, it is the highest point in the watershed of the Kaverza River and the Brook of the Orlova Gap. Its height: 649 m. Rock outcrops come to the surface on the southern slopes.

The urban settlement of Gulkevichi is located 176 kilometres to the East of Krasnodar and is a district centre considered to be one of the most stable in the Krasnodar Territory. Gulkevichi received a town status in 1961.

Tsentarlny district hosts the most part of the iconic Sochi: The Winter Theatre, Seaport, Railway Station, Art Museum, Riviera Park and the Bocharov Ruchei residence in New Sochi, Sochi Arboretum, as well as the famous Soviet-era hotels Zhemchuzhina and Svetlana located a little to the south, on Vereshchaginskaya side (this district is better known as Svetlana) in Khostinsky district of Sochi. Khostinsky District is a famous spa resort, and beach holidays here are less popular than health resorts.

Lazarevsky district is the most remote from the airport and the centre of Sochi. The territory of Adlersky district hosts the buildings that were built in both clusters of the Olympics-2014 - mountain cluster (Krasnaya Polyana) and coastal cluster (Olympic Park in Imeretinskaya Valley).

Sochi has long been a nightmare of a car-driver. The situation with regard to traffic jams worsened before the Olympic Games, but still improved after the introduction of new roads and interchanges - a relief road of Kurortny Avenue, as well as the new Krasnopolyanskoe Highway opened at the end of 2013.

All souvenirs at the resorts of Greater Sochi are, basically, the same. In the season of 2013/14 souvenirs with Olympic symbols practically drove away the traditional shells and trees of happiness.

The climate in the area of Dubovka is moderately continental. Winters are cold, with little amount of snow, frequent thaws.

Many legends are associated with the patriarch oak located on the eastern outskirts of Dubovka, on the bank of the Volgograd water reservoir.

The town of Barabinsk grew out of the railway station of the Omsk section of the Trans-Siberian Railway with the biblical name Kainsk.

Abaza is a small town with 17 thousand inhabitants, with mostly low-rise buildings located in the intermountain basin of the Western Sayan Mountains.

A white rock stands opposite to Divnogorsk. According to a legend, once there lived a monk in the monastery on the place of modern Divnogorsk and suffered from unrequited love.

Anzhero-Sudzhensk means both the mine and the Trans-Siberian Railway. The villages of Anzherka and Sudzhenka that merged into the town had appeared when coal had been found here during the geological exploration for the highway being constructed.

Divnogorsk climbs on a slope of a high hill like a cat. Pine trees on its boulevards, according to local residents, have not been planted they have been saved during the initial clearing of taiga.

Abaza is of interest for tourists not in itself, but rather as a transit point on their way to other places.

There is no tourism infrastructure in Anzhero-Sudzhensk. The city has the only Central Hotel with about three stars, one restaurant in it and several cafes.

One of the newest and most comfortable towns of Khakassia. A large ski resort is located close to Sayanogorsk.

A watchtower designed to protect the local land from the enemies stood on the place of modern Sayanogorsk in 1717.

The history of Divnogorsk Story started in 1954: it was a settlement where the builders of Krasnoyarsk HPP lived.

People in Barabinsk bake delicious buns with raspberry, bilberry, and sea buckthorn fillings. The local dairy factory makes a very tasty melted butter.
