Zima City is one of the oldest settlements in the Irkutsk region.


The town has three hotels: Sibai - an old hotel built in Soviet times, Tatiana - a small and comfortable hotel with tea and coffee in rooms, and The Golden Yurt - a new hotel in a European style.


The town derives its name from the features of the local landscape: here massive rocks of spur of Salair mountain range come to the earth surface.

The name of Zyuratkul is often translated as Heart Lake, but this is true only in part. Until early XX century, the Lake had been called differently: Yurak Kul, and the neighboring Ridge was called Yurak-Tau, Heart Mountain.


Highlands leave their mark on the climate. Summer is not very hot (although sometimes temperature rises up to +38 C), winter is not severely cold (although sometimes temperature falls to -50 C). The wettest month with a lot of rain is November. The best time to visit the place is summer.


The factory of Ufaley emerged in 1761, when a major landowner of the noble family of Masalovs, Ivan the Smaller Perfilyevich built a charcoal factory and a hammer factory on the Ufaley River.


Irbit, a town in Sverdlovsk Oblast, is a motor-bike capital of Russia. The foundation of Irbit was associated with the construction of first state ironworks in the Urals in 1630-1631.


Kasli is the capital of the Urals iron casting. The works of the Kasli Foundry include figurines, decorative dishes, decorative lattice that received prestigious awards at international exhibitions in Paris, Copenhagen, Vienna, Stockholm and Milan.


Only by the road signs and brand local billboards Smile, you're in Verkhnyaya Salda, a car-driver traveling along the P-353 road can determine that he is moving in the heart of the global titanium metallurgy.


The biggest Russian enterprise for the production of mining equipment, Kopeisk Machine-Building Plant is located here. The plant, by the way, is one of the main tourist attractions of the city.


It is visible by the naked eye that the place where the Kamenka River flows into Iset is rich in iron ore: distinctive red streaks can be seen everywhere on the nearby rocks. At the end of XVII century the Abbot of the Dolmatovsky Monastery decided to take advantage of this feature of the local geology and requested this land from the treasury.


The town has a monument to Parasha-the Siberian girl. It is said that the girl walked on foot from Ishim to Moscow to beg forgiveness of Nicholas II for her father who was exiled to Siberia.


Every year in March the town hosts a large theatre Ishim Theatrical Games of the Young People.
