Ice Gallery "Polar Star" in Sokolniki Park of Moscow
February 11, 2017 19:42

Romanticism of the North with its boundless open spaces, white nights and polar light is attractive to many. In Sokolniki you will be able to adjoin an ice fairy tale and feel like a courageous explorer of the Arctic Circle.
The ice sculpture gallery "Polar Star" has been held in the Main Avenue of the Sokolniki Park since December 30. The exhibits presented are not by mere chance here: the entire exposition introduces visitors to the beauty of the Far North and its inhabitants.
Creators of the exhibition were inspired with the polar  camp Barneo, which is located on a drifting ice floe. Its main min attraction is in boundless ice and snow open spaces, where a person is lost and becomes an integral part of nature.
The premises of the gallery are made from the ice blocks, which were brought from Siberia specially for the occasion. Inside you will find snow igloos and tents of polar explorers, as well as figures of the Arctic inhabitants: bears, whales, reindeer, and walruses.
The exhibition space is also used as a lecture hall and a movie theater.
