“Sokolniki” Park is actively preparing for the new summer season, which officially starts on May 1. The visitors of the park will be able to enjoy the variety of types of entertainment, including a series of new ones, without analogues in other Moscow parks.

A total of 72 different services will entertain its visitors this summer, which will make “Sokolniki” Park a No. 1 park in a variety of services for visitors. Besides, this summer a number of iconic objects will be opened after reconstruction and improvement: the summer theatre, new beach areas, the renewed library, the Central flowerbed, the Symphonic stage and others. One of the most noticeable changes will be the new appearance of the main entrance. Already at the end of July the visitors will be presented a stylish entrance, recreating the appearance of the main entrance to the park in 1930s. The new face of the park will be the giant colonnades in beautiful shades of beige with rich stucco decorations, typical for “Stalin Empire style”.

The layout of the entrance includes circular benches and pavement in the form of 4 circles. A unique lighting will emphasize the geometry of the space in the evening. The Central flowerbed of the park will also gain a new look recreating the parterre flower garden of 1950s. In order to create this they will use the range of plants used in the park landscaping of that time, and the design will repeat the historical sketches. Fountains with lots of jets and a decorative lighting will be located around the side flower beds.

On the first day of the new season the opening of the historic summer theatre for 300 seats will be held, the theatre will operate from May to October. The facility will be located far away from the noisy places - in Mitkovsky Lane, near the Great Rose Garden. Film shows will be held in the evenings and feature new films and festival hits, as well as restored versions of the classic movies. During the daytime the site will host lectures, workshops, concerts and theatrical performances for both adults and children.

This summer the visitors of the park will be able to rent traditional bikes, bicycle cars, rollers and Segways, as well as new modern vehicles: conference bikes, electric tricycles, inertial scooters, family cycle rickshaws. In addition, in May “Sokolniki” will be the first of Moscow Parks to launch a new service - a detective quest area will open in the pavilion at the main entrance to the park.

During the new season many traditional events will be held for the park visitors, including the projects loved by the residents of Moscow, such as the Festival of Collectors’ cars and Vintage “RetroFest”, the Bicycle Parade “Lady on a Bike”, the Festival of Ice-Cream, the International Festival of Landscape Art, Horticulture and Nursery “Gardens and People”, the Historical Bicycle Ride and many others. The Moscow Festival of Contemporary Literature will be held here for the first time.
